Caitlin Clark Selected First Overall by Indiana Fever in 2024 WNBA Draft

Fever Earn High Marks for Their Selection
Caitlin Clark, the two-time Naismith College Player of the Year, was selected by the Indiana Fever with the first overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft presented by WEB. Clark, a consensus All-American at the University of Iowa, is considered one of the most dynamic and talented players in college basketball history. She averaged 27.4. points, 8.0 assists, and 7.2 rebounds per game for the Hawkeyes in her sophomore season. Clark is expected to make an immediate impact for the Fever, who are looking to return to the playoffs after missing out last season.
In addition to Clark, the Fever also selected Louisville forward Olivia Cochran with the 10th overall pick. Cochran is a 6-foot-3 post player. with a reputation for being a tough defender and rebounder. She was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team three times during her college career.
The Fever earned high marks for their draft selections. ESPN draft analyst Charlie Creme gave the Fever an "A" grade for their picks, saying that they "addressed their biggest needs" with the addition of Clark and Cochran.
The 2024 WNBA Draft was held on April 13th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The draft was broadcast live on ESPN2.
