Arsenal's Title Hopes Dented by Aston Villa Comeback
Emery's Side Fall to Second Defeat of the Season
Arsenal's Premier League title ambitions suffered a major setback as Aston Villa came from behind to snatch a dramatic 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium. The result leaves the Gunners eight points behind leaders Liverpool after just eight matches.
Villa's Late Surge Stuns Arsenal
Arsenal looked to be cruising to victory after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's early opener. However, Dean Smith's side produced a stunning late surge, with Trezeguet equalizing in the 79th minute before John McGinn completed the turnaround four minutes from time.
The defeat is Arsenal's second of the season and their first at home. It also brings to an end their three-game winning streak in the Premier League.
Unai Emery's side will now be looking to bounce back in their next match, an away trip to Southampton on October 26th.
